Blossoms of the Orient Dance is a cultural dance performance by the Hong
Kong South East Asia Dance Troupe presented by PBPS
Yok Bin Malaysia Tengah and RiverGrass
Dance Theatre.
This 30 member dance troupe is led by Madam Surianty Liu Chun Wai as president and To Siu Leung and Fong Sau Lin as vice-presidents. All the dances that will be presented are based on the research and studies done for many years from the local artists around Southeast Asian Countries.
The performance will see them presenting 14 Southeast Asian Dances , and as the host of the night, RiverGrass Dance Theatre will also bring to the audience two choreographies. This evening of two hours' performance will certainly be an eye opening and memorable experience for the audience.
Though
South East Asia Dance Troupe is based in Hong Kong, the students of
Mdm. Surianty from different countries will also appear in the production,
i.e. the artistis director of RiverGrass Dance
Theatre, Mew Chang
Tsing, Tina Chen from Britain, and other professional dancers
from China, Singapore and Indonesia.
Also, Blossoms of the Orient Dance is a charity performance aiming to raise funds for the RiverGrass Dance Theatre Performance Fund. On this, the commitee is very happy to gain support from Datin Ngui Soon Leng, Puan Sri Tan Siew Kien, and Datin Teow Sook Inn, acting as the patrons for this production.
Blossoms of the Orient Dance is a performance that gathers folkloric dancers from different parts of the world. This is a performance that should not be missed by the public especially those who are interested in cultural dance performances.
